THE AI ORG FOR STARTUPS

You steer an AI org. You don't babysit one.

Five opt-in departments. One shared Brain. You keep every one-way door.

COMMAND SURFACES

One signal. The right squads move.

Customer, market, or ship — each signal wakes different desks. Not five chat threads to babysit.

ONE SHARED BRAIN

Five roles. One Brain. That's why they compound.

One decision. Structured write. Governed cascade. Your one-way doors.

We need SAML SSO before Acme's renewal — security won't sign without it.

QUESTIONS

Straight answers.

Can a solo founder actually run on AI Squads?

Yes — the durable job is stay lean and delay the first hires while still operating like a small company. Connect what you already use, turn on the department that hurts, keep every one-way door. You remain the judgment layer; squads remove the busy work and re-explain tax.

Solo founder breakdown

Can I leave a squad off?

Yes. Squads are opt-in. Leave departments off, ready, or live — and set autonomy per process by blast radius. Defaults are supervised-safe. Nothing takes over the company by default.

Control plane

How do I stop runaway spend?

Per-department monthly credit budgets, hard-stop when the cap hits, model routing defaults you can change, and kill switches outside the agent runtime. Cost control is first-class — not an afterthought.

Budgets & hard-stops

What if the squad is wrong?

Wrong judgment is contained. Reversible work carries receipts and undo. One-way doors stay held. Cascades have cooldowns, depth limits, and circuit breakers so a bad call cannot silently fan out overnight.

Receipts & undo

How do squads relate to tasks?

When a squad finds work, it cascades a normal task onto the same board — with context attached. Tasks execute; squads decide what is worth opening. You are not managing five agent threads.

Task System

Is the PM surface a sixth squad?

No. Autonomous PM and board hygiene live in the Task System. Squads own functions (Engineering, Marketing, Accounts, Product, Strategy).

Autonomous PM

How are AI Squads different from an agent builder or agent store?

Builders give you parts. HiveBase gives an operating model: department roles, shared Brain headquarters, living surfaces, continuous watch, handoffs, receipts, credit budgets, and autonomy by blast radius — not a kit you wire yourself.

DIY vs pre-wired

Stay lean. Add the squad that hurts.

Budgets and one-way doors stay yours.
